Since the death of Jack's mother, Aaron's ex-wife, Haley. Thing's have been increasingly difficult for Aaron. He was burying himself in work and isolating himself as much as possible. It was getting unhealthy.

He'd got a cat for Jack. You were only a little thing, he was told you weren't loud and you were house trained so you wouldn't be much of an issue for him. That's all he needed. Something to keep Jack happy and he only needed to put out water and food for. The bare minimum.

One night, Aaron got home a little early so he could be alone. He had had enough of people at work worrying about him for today, so he put Jack to bed and he walked into his own room only to find the cat, you, curled up on his pillow and staring back at him. Aaron let out a deep sigh through his nose. He was utterly drained. He sat on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands, still dressed in his work clothes apart from the blazer which he had previous pulled of and tossed on the dresser.

"Stop staring at me." He says as he looked up at the small furry animal. He knew it was only a cat, it wasn't going to do as he said. It didn't understand. But Aaron needed someone to listen, anyone, anything.

The maelstrom within him was bubbling and if something didn't relieve it soon he was afraid he'd hurt someone, or himself. Worst of all his young son.
