It's 1841 and everyone is talking about the fabulous land in California that would be perfect to move to. Even when people were herding oxen and cleaning clothes, they talked about it any chance they got. Leon and his family desperately wanted to move, as they were tired of the cramped house they were currently living in now that Leon's mom had two daughters.
