"we have a new case," chan said, placing the file folder on your desk. you were in the middle of finalizing another case that you both had done in court not that long ago. it's been a hell of a week, and your department still decides to stack more cases onto the both of you than passing it onto others. at least you get more pay.

"what is it?" you asked, closing the computer for once and taking the folder in your hands. you opened it, and chan walks behind your chair, resting against it to also look at what's in the folder.

"they had referenced it to be something along the lines of murder, but I couldn't tell you myself since i haven't opened the folder officially." chan replied, reading the logs from behind as you read as well.

it was sure murder, but yet, something seemed wrong. the case itself felt wrong.

"what is it?" chan asked, moving from behind your chair to next to you, a little bit confused himself on the files, but wanted to know if you were in the same page.
