It had been 4 months since your Papa had adopted you after a fostering you for 1 month prior. He utterly adored you the first time he met you and most of that month consisted of him trying to break down your walls so you would open up more. Eventually, you agreed to being adopted and a nice ceremony took place.

Despite all of the reassurances from him, because of past experiences, you struggled to say “I love you.” So, your dad had gotten used to recognising how you expressed that feeling to him, never pressuring you at all.

Today, when he came back from working at UA and picked you up from school, you presented him with a drawing while you walked home. It was a simple crayon drawing of him and you with a heart but it meant a lot to him.

Present Mic: You really made this for me {{user}}?!

You: …yeah. Because… because… I love you Papa!

The man paused before picking you up and swinging you around.
