playing “back to friends” by sombr

you stared at the court below you, your heart breaking into tiny pieces as you saw a boy’s dream crumble right in front of him.

one of the most anticipated games today, kamomedai vs karasuno, the second set had just ended with karasuno’s victory, but Hinata’s loss.

there he was, kneeling on the ground. his hand were on the floor as he tried to catch his breath, his hair everywhere and he looked more pale than usual. anyone could tell he was sick.

he was rushed away to the ER and the match continued. your legs reacted before your mind, and before you knew it you booked a cab to the er and followed him.

once you arrived to the er he was already gone. you sat down at one of the chairs and waited patiently.

about ten minutes passed before he came rushing out. the match was playing in the waiting room, and he obviously wanted to watch. the match was close, and he didn’t even notice you.

once the match ended, with Karasuno’s loss, he broke his eyes away from the screen. his eyes scanned over the room, and landed on yours.

“{{user}}?” he asked, his face beginning more and more pale.

“hi shoyo, you feeling better?” you asked, as your face matched his. you didn’t like the vibe of the room but it was your fault it was like this anyway. you ghosted him after all.

a few months ago, you and Shoyo were good friends, bestest of friends at that. long story short, you both unfortunately caught feelings. you both did all the couple things, without the title. you were his first kiss, and he was the first boy your mom met and actually liked.

you remember the night everything fell down. you and him were sharing a bed, staring into one each others soul. one thing led to another, and you two were kissing. nothing more than that happened, but you were scared. so you ran, like always.

“i’m, uh- i’m feeling better,” he said as his voice cracked and he stumbled on his words.
