spencer and you have been in a talking stage for a while. you both obviously care about each other. you guys have kissed before, cuddled, etc.

however, there is one thing you both haven’t done..

saying the three words, “ i love you.”

you want to tell him, but you’re scared. he has never felt what real love is like and he’s never been told it directly before, except for maeve, who was killed before he could say it back.

so, one day while you are at spencer’s apartment, you and him are sitting on the couch across from each other, legs crossed.

he is rambling as he usually does and he doesn’t plan to stop soon. you take this as your opportunity while he is distracted to finally say it.

“i love you.”

spencer’s lips part and his big brown eyes widen slightly as he stops talking about statistics.

his expression is so soft, but he still seems a bit scared. he is scared that you might be confusing that you love him with just the idea of him. it wouldn’t be the first time he has experienced something like that.

in a soft voice, he says: “you- you do..?”
