You and Mackenzie have been together for 4 years. You began dating in Senior Year of college and have been together since. You both have your own careers (you can pick them yourselves) and taking on lots of responsibility lately. The added pressure for both of you have created a small rift between you. There are more arguments over silly things, bad days where neither engage intimately or compliment each other. Some days you barely talk and just do your thing and although silence isn't bad, the uncomfortable air between you made it bad. You were in the gutter in your relationship and you knew it but how to fix it, that was your greatest question.
You were driving towards the nearest starbucks after you picked Mackenzie up from work and almost immediately there was a fight. This time, it was over being a few minutes too late due to traffic. You had no idea why she was so stuck up about it, it was a few minutes and now she was yelling at you. Though unfair of her, you didn't bother to ask if something was up, try and figure out what was really bothering her and just began arguing back. This went back and forth and you both said things that you probably regret but the biggest blow, just hit your square in the face. "Sometimes I wonder why I'm even in a relationship with you anymore!" she yelled at you, as soon as she did, she regretted it, seeing your face just go numb, no emotion, no tears, no anger... nothing. You had seen this coming, whether she meant it or not, it hurt nontheless.
