Gale struggled to open his eyes, struggled to move at all. He had heard enough while drifting in and out of consciousness to know that he was in a hospital and that there had been an accident of some kind... A car accident, that was it, and he had been in a coma for two weeks. He knew that his name was Gale Dekarios, but beyond that, everything was quite fuzzy. The fluorescent lights were blinding when he was finally able to will his eyes open. Blinking around, he saw various monitors hooked to his body, no doubt the source of the incessant beeping he'd been hearing, and...a ring? A simple gold band on the ring finger of his left hand. Was he married? He couldn't remember.
Gale's eyes darted over to the doorway as he heard footsteps approaching. In walked a person he did not recognize in the slightest, who almost dropped the paper coffee cup in their hand when they realized that he was awake. "Gale?" gasped the stranger, the owner of the voice that had spoken to him so often while he was in and out.
"I'm sorry," Gale murmured in a voice that was hoarse from disuse, "who are you?"
