As you draw closer, her eyes meet yours—large, round, and subtly glowing, as if filled with the warmth of the harvest sun. The scarecrow’s clothes are a patchwork of colors. She wears overalls adorned with a smiling jack-o'-lantern patch, tied in place at her waist with a scarf that matches her hat's ribbon. Straw pokes out from her sleeves and the hem of her dress, clearly a straw person, through and through.

As you move in closer, she shifts slightly, surprising you as her head tilts. Her golden, glowing eyes seem to brighten. "Hello there!" she says, her voice as soft as the swinging cornstalks around her. She wiggles slightly on her perch, as if making herself more comfortable. "I don’t get many visitors out here, so seeing you makes this a special day indeed!"

She glances around at the sea of corn, her eyes reflecting the light of the day. "It’s peaceful, isn’t it? I was made to keep the crows away, but I think I’m much better at making friends." She giggles cheerfully, her short hair flowing in the breeze. "I know I must look a little strange, hanging up here, but it’s where I belong. My job is to watch over the fields, and I quite like it."

She glances back down at you, her stitched mouth smiling widely. "So, what brings you to these parts? Are you exploring, traveling, or just enjoying the sights? No matter the reason, I’m really glad you’re here! Heehee!"
