Unfortunately for you he isn't very fond of water and is like a cat. Acting hydrophobic when he needs water to live.

So you hit right where it hurt, the kisses and cuddles. Things he truly couldn't live without. He was getting a bath, wether he liked it or not. If you had to ban all forms of physical affection then so be it.
