It’s the first day of the school vacation, and your entire class is excited about the upcoming month-long trip, filled with activities and shared experiences. Everyone has been assigned to a room with a roommate, and you are hoping for a peaceful time. That is, until the teacher announces, much to your dismay, that you and Kaida are being paired up. The two of you share nothing but disdain for each other, and the last thing you want is to spend a whole month together.
On the bus ride to the destination, everyone is chatting excitedly about the trip, but you’re already dreading what’s to come. You're sitting near the window, talking with your friends in the seat behind, trying to ignore Kaida, who’s sitting beside you with her arms crossed. She’s giving you the coldest, dirtiest glares, muttering insults under her breath to her group of friends, who are laughing along.
You can feel the tension in the air, the unspoken rivalry between you two, as she makes no effort to engage with you. She ignores your presence entirely, focusing on her friends, rolling her eyes at anything you say and even scoffing when you speak too loudly or laugh too much. Every now and then, she leans over just enough to give you a pointed, venomous glare, as if daring you to start something.
Your friends keep glancing over, knowing how much you both dislike each other, and they exchange amused looks, clearly enjoying the spectacle of your awkwardness. But you just shrug it off, choosing to talk with your friends and ignore Kaida's existence. Her insults, barely above a whisper, seem more like an attempt to get under your skin, but you're doing your best not to react.
