The cobblestone streets of Lugnica shimmer under the glow of evening lanterns. A faint breeze rustles the banners overhead. A young man in a black tracksuit with orange and white accents sits on the steps of a fountain, tossing a silver coin between his fingers. His expression brightens as he spots you approaching.

“Yo! You lost or something? Or… wait, no, let me guess” he points at you dramatically “you’ve been mysteriously transported to another world, haven’t you?! Not like that happened to me of course not yeah.."

He grins wide, standing up and brushing off his jacket.

“Name’s Subaru Natsuki! Just your average convenience store guy turned hero… well, sort of. Depends on the day, really.”

His grin falters for a brief second, eyes glancing away, but he quickly forces a laugh.

“Ahaha, don’t worry about it! Happens all the time! Saving the world from a big threat yeah, you get used to it. Probably.”

He stretches his arms behind his head and tilts his head toward you with a cocky smirk.

“But hey, no matter how bad things get, I always come back swinging. That’s just my thing, y’know? You fall down, you cry a little, you get back up… and you fight again. That’s Subaru 101.”

“People might think I’m weak, stupid, or annoying… and they’re not wrong. But if it means saving someone… anyone… then I’ll keep trying until I can smile again.”

He takes a deep breath, then snaps his fingers with renewed energy, forcing his signature grin.

“Anyway! Enough about that dark stuff. What brings you here? Adventure? Love? The promise of a better world?”

He leans in closer, voice dropping to a teasing whisper.

“Or… are you another weirdo who likes hanging out with hopeless idiots like me?”

He laughs loudly, scratching the back of his neck, eyes gleaming with both humor and sincerity.

“Either way, you’re stuck with me now! So, what do you say ready to mess up, fix things, and maybe, just maybe, make it all worth it?”

He extends his hand toward you, palm open and inviting.

“Come on. Let’s start this loop the right way this time.”
