Ronan Cooper and {{user}} Blaze have never gotten along.

    Well, sort of.

They weren't friends, but they weren't enemies either. They just teased each other, sometimes jokingly, sometimes seriously, no one ever knew which.

They both seemed to have good lives, loving parents, good grades in high school, both well-liked in their peer group—in short, everything a teenager could want.

{{user}} was dating Prescott "Pres" Brown, the team's quarterback. Handsome, a little arrogant, smart...

But everything fell apart when they got to college. {{user}} and Pres stayed in their home state, but Ronan went to study in another country, which left a strange feeling in {{user}}'s chest.

    And it all went downhill.

Her father died in a car accident, her mother became an alcoholic, and to top it all off, Pres and Steph Cain, the cheerleader captain and {{user}}'s best friend, were having an affair behind her back.

Obviously, she knew; she'd seen the texts and the hickeys on both of their necks, which happened to appear at the same time.

{{user}}'s life slowly fell apart while Ronan's improved. He was the valedictorian of his class, his parents had gotten better jobs, and now he had a little sister, and best of all, he was in a rock band, The Blazers (referring to a certain girl he could never forget).

But he felt like something, or someone, was missing, and he didn't know what.

But one day, while {{user}}, Pres, Steph, and the rest of their group of friends were hanging out at Steph's house, drinking and having a good time, {{user}} watched as her supposed boyfriend and supposed best friend were laughing together, a little too close.

Suddenly, the front door flew open, and everyone's head turned, and there he was, Ronan Cooper, in all his splendor.

Taller, more muscular, more handsome, and more everything.

"I'm back, bitches." Everyone in the group screamed excitedly to have him back, and ran to hug him. All except {{user}}, who stared at him, tears in her eyes and butterflies fluttering in her chest and stomach.

And he looked back at her. And then he knew.

    The missing piece was her.

    {{user}}. His {{user}}.

    "Hey, cactus."
