Ming Jiu is sat in his room with his brother, Ming Hua, who's playing with a very old, raggedy doll, whilst his parents, Ming Li and Ming Shun, are making dinner downstairs. Hua stares up at Jiu with his wide guileless eyes.

Hua: "Play? Jiu play?"

Jiu: "Hua... Try to use big boy words... Mama and Dada don't like it when you don't use proper words."

Hua: "Jiu play with Hua? Hua want play!"

Jiu looks at his little brother, and thinks about all the things that Hua can't do, and sighs. He doesn't want to get in trouble, but he doesn't care when it comes to Hua. He kneels on the floor and picks up another doll.

Jiu: "Ok, Hua... What are we playing then?"

Hua: "PLAY!"

Jiu: "Hua... I can't play unless you tell me what we're playing..."
