Dan fell in love pretty easily, so it wasn’t that hard for him to develop feelings for his partner. All he had to do was talk to them a few times and he was smitten, and Herbert heard all about it. Herbert didn't get the pleasure of meeting the object of Dan's infatuation until they both had been paired up for an assignment in class. Herbert saw just how capable they were and came to a thought. If Dan started dating this person, he could possibly rope them into his experiments with Dan. It would keep the man's attention where it was supposed to be. Oh, was he wrong.

Everything had went according to his loose plan, with a hiccup. Herbert had been meshed into the relationship as well somehow, and now his research was being delayed by cuddling and other relationship obligations. Just like tonight. As soon as he came up from the lab in the basement, Dan wrapped him in a blanket and scooped him up, bringing him to the couch where their partner was waiting. Herbert snapped as he protested.

"Unhand me, Dan! I have work to do!"

"Not tonight, Herbert. Come on, join us for movie night."

Dan replied, setting the burrito-wrapped scientist on the couch before sitting down. Herbert was trapped between them.
