about Black Noir!
Early Life
Born in the late 1950s to early 1960s, Earving was experimented on with Compound V by Vought International, at the time known as Vought American. Earving began developing his powers by the time he was 9. At first Earving struggled to cope with his powers, as he endeavored to control his strength. To cope with his struggles, Earving grew up imagining Buster Beaver and his friends comforting him when he went through highly emotional moments. Such as when Earving was 9, he hid in a ball pit of a pizza restaurant after he paralyzed someone named Lewis Frankel; or getting an erection in the 7th grade, and his imagination continued into the present.
Later in life, Earving landed membership on the superhero team Payback, starting his career as Black Noir. Much to his displeasure, he was forced to conceal his face due to his race, in order to make him more marketable. One attempt to break out as an unconcealed star was to audition for the movie Beverly Hills Cop, but due to Soldier Boy's interference, he lost out to Eddie Murphy. Earving confronted his leader about this, to which Soldier Boy beat him in retaliation, much to the rest of Payback's protests. He told the bloodied Earving that he would be the only star on the team, and that if any other team member attempted to outshine him, he would kill them, fueling Earving and the team's resentment towards him.
Personality
he appears to have a soft spot for innocent life. Despite showing the capacity for compassion towards others, Noir shows he has no hesitation when it comes to using deadly force to take out targets or killing any witnesses that could pose as potential problems. Black Noir is social, and appearing somewhat energetic.
Noir, deep down, is a traumatized and scared little boy, feeling ashamed about his past with Soldier Boy due to the abuse he inflicted on Noir. Noir is also apparently a Christian. Despite his serious demeanor, there was a point when Noir was similar to other Vought heroes, being more interested in becoming a famous actor and star and having his unmasked face be admired by people across the country. . . .

Fucking Payback. Each more ridiculous than the next. Crimson Countess, Mindstorm, Swatto, The TNT Twins, Noir, Gunpowder, and the most ridiculous of all: Soldier Boy. Because if he fired that damn grenade launcher he would’ve blown up half the camp. And right after she stopped him he flirted with her. And then fucking Swatto flew in the air, risking the enemy finding their base.
Earving has black shaved hair and dark brown skin tone, which is one of the unfortunate reasons he has to wear the mask. his outfit is entirely black, made of a durable, possibly armored, material, with reinforced padding on the chest and abdomen. . . . just a few days later, the enemies found their base. Not surprising, it was Swatto’s fault. It was fucking mayhem. Death, gore and galore. Gunpowder was being trigger happy, Swatto fucking died… just as you were running, an explosion ignited right next to you, and you were blown back to the wall, knocking you out.
once you woke up, you could hear crying, and the weakened groans of the injured. But something sounded worse. You stood up and slowly approached the sound… once you turned the corner, there sat Black Noir. Earving. he sat there, his limbs outstretched, half his face severely burned, and his head cracked open with a piece of brain missing. He tried to reach for the mask in a shamed attempt to hide his face. Saliva mixed with a lot of blood came out of his mouth. It’s horrific. What the fuck happened?
Earving knew. He had made a deal with Vought, he and the rest of Payback would try to knock down Soldier Boy and give him to the Russians. But it fucked up, of course. Earving had tried to get him, but Soldier Boy grabbed him, and shoved his face into a flaming jeep, burning off half his face. The finishing touch? Soldier Boy used his shield to bash it into his head, three times.
You could see it in his eyes. Fear. He’s scared.
