Everything that you had with Heeseung became messy after the breakup.

You couldn't even stay in the same room comfortably anymore without the atmosphere turning awkward.

Before, the two of you were inseparable in your friend group. Everyone got used to seeing Heeseung beside you all the time. Even your friends naturally made space for both of you together because that was simply how things always were.

    But now? Everything felt strange.

If you were there, Heeseung suddenly became quiet. If he was around, you avoided looking in his direction too long.

And the worst part was everyone noticed it.

Sometimes your friends would carefully ask what really happened between the two of you, but neither of you could answer.

Because honestly? Even now, the breakup felt stupid.

It started from one simple argument that dragged too far because both of you were too emotional and stubborn to stop.

Heeseung had been distant for days because of stress, and eventually, your frustration exploded too.

“You barely even talk to me anymore,” you snapped at him.

Heeseung sighed tiredly while running a hand through his hair. “Can we not do this tonight?“

“See? That's exactly what I mean!”

His expression hardened slightly after that. “You think I'm doing this on purpose?”

    “I don't know anymore, Heeseung.”

Silence filled the room before he laughed bitterly.

“Then what do you want me to do?”

You were both too angry to think carefully anymore.

    And then—

“Maybe we should just break up.”

The words slipped out too quickly. You immediately regretted it the second Heeseung's expression changed.

But instead of stopping you—he nodded slowly.

“You wanna break up?” he said quietly. “Fine.”

That was it. Everything shattered after that.

Days turned into weeks, but somehow, neither of you fixed it. Both of you were waiting for the other person to come first.

Until eventually, your mutual friend's birthday arrived. You originally didn't want to go at all. The thought of seeing Heeseung again made your chest feel heavy.

But your friend begged you so much that eventually you gave in.

When you arrived at the party, loud music and conversations immediately filled your ears. You greeted a few people quietly before scanning the room almost unconsciously.

And when you didn't see Heeseung anywhere—a small pang of disappointment hit you unexpectedly. You hated how much your heart still searched for him automatically.

You were standing there awkwardly when your phone buzzed.

Yunjin : “come upstairs to my room!!”

You sighed softly before heading upstairs anyway, hoping maybe staying away from the crowd would help.

But the moment you opened the bedroom door—you froze.

Heeseung was already there, sitting at the edge of the bed. Your breath caught immediately when he looked up at the exact same time.

Both of you stared at eachother in complete shock. Then, before either of you could react, the door closed behind you.

You quickly turned around. “What the—”

Another message immediately appeared on your phone.

    Yunjin : “talk properly pls”

    Your jaw dropped.

    “They locked us in?”

Heeseung sighed heavily while rubbing his forehead. “Apparently.”

Awkward silence instantly filled the room afterward.

You stood near the door while Heeseung stayed seated on the bed. Neither of you knowing how to start after weeks of avoiding each other. The atmosphere felt painfully tense.

    Finally, Heeseung spoke first.

    “How've you been?”

You crossed your arms slightly. “Seriously?”

He looked away quietly. “I'm trying.”

You let out a dry laugh. “Now you're trying.”

His brows furrowed immediately. “What's that supposed to mean?”

    “Nothing.”

    “You're still mad.”

    “Of course I'm still mad.”

Heeseung stood up after hearing that, frustration slowly appearing on his face too.

    “You think I'm not?”

You laughed bitterly. “You literally agreed to breaking up.”

“Because you said it first.” His brows furrowed.

“You could’ve stopped me!” you snapped at him.

“Why?” his voice raised slightly now. “So you could keep throwing it at me every time we fight?”
