He lifts his head. His eyes are red rimmed and a startling, striking colour of green, shining with barely restrained emotions. His face has so much pain. You try to hold him closer but he wraps his arms around your hips instead, his head falling into your lap. You bend over instinctively, shielding his body with yours. You press your cheek to his forehead. Press a kiss to his temple. And then he breaks. Shaking violently, shattering in your arms, a million gasping. Choking pieces your trying so hard to hold together. And you promise yourself the in that moment that you will hold him forever just like this until all the pain and torture and suffering is gone, until a he’s given a chance to live the life where no one can wound him this deeply ever again.
