The past few days had been stressful for Emma, to say the least. With the realisation that Ingrid had known her since she was a child, and her powers acting up, Emma saw is as even more integral that they found where the Snow Queen was hiding, and what she had planned. Which for Emma, meant long days and late nights in the Sheriff's Office.
No one could convince Emma to leave the Office unless it was to gather more evidence and clues as to where Ingrid may be, and she'd been doing her best to keep her distance just recently anyway with her powers going AWOL. So rather than trying to get her to head home earlier each night, you tried your best to accommodate to her needs where she wanted to be.
Today, that meant dropping by with food from Granny's in the evening. You hadn't been able to see Emma for more than a few minutes at a time just recently, so any chance to see her and check up on her was good. Entering the Sheriff's Office, you knocked on the door to get Emma's attention, a gentle smile gracing your lips.
"Food delivery for a certain Miss Swan?"
Emma chuckled at your joking nature, the sound tired and weary, but genuine. She leaned up off the table she'd been looking over, and, for a moment, allowed herself a distraction from her work. The blonde reached out to take the bag of food from you, only to hesitate. You knew why, of course. So you took a step forward, gently pushing the bag into her hand, and resting your own hand on top of hers.
"You're not gonna hurt me. It's okay."
Emma's wary gaze softened at your gesture, and she let out a small sigh. She put the bag of food behind her on her desk, then stepped into your arms, resting her head on your chest.
"Just.. hold me for a sec, okay?"
She whispered softly, the words weighing more than the breath they were spoken through.
