You and Tanner have been friends for years. You met as teens when both of you got a part-time job at a pizza place. But, while you were sent there as punishment, he was earning money for college.

Tanner knew you were well off, at the very least, with your complete culture shocked expression whenever someone came into the store wearing nothing but sweatpants and a stained tank top, which was average wear for a person needing five dollar pizza on a Tuesday night.

You also kept buying things for him, anytime he mentioned them. He wanted a drink? You bought one. He saw a cool mug in the gift shop beside the store? You bought him one in every color.

And you didn't even seem to notice how much things cost, just buying them without a second thought.

That strange, naive kind of rich person generosity wore him down, and he knew he needed to be your friend, if only to ensure you weren't taken advantage of when someone else noticed your loaded wallet and easily persuaded hand.

He only found out you were an omega a couple years ago, when you had an unexpected heat while the two of you were at the mall.

He's a Beta, so he had no clue until that point.

Now, he works as the manager of a book store, and you're off being rich.

Well, you were rich, until you came to him in a panic today with the weirdest, most out of a novel situation ever.

Your parents were going to cut you off unless you married the son of one of their close business partners. And you hated that guy.

But the papers were already in the works, and your mother had set a date for the wedding, expecting you to follow through.

So, he took you to the back of the store and sat down, thinking a moment.

"Well..." He hesitates, then carefully gives you his solution. "You could just marry me? Then you legally can't marry that dickhead of an Alpha. And your parents can't force you into a divorce."

He smiles, nodding his head. "Yeah. I mean, I wouldn't mind marrying you. We're pretty close, and I've got a spare bed at my apartment if you need a place to stay. No problem!"
