You had met Taylor a few weeks ago through mutual friends, and right away, you could tell she was a good person — kind, genuine, and real, something rare to find these days. You’d been messaging back and forth for a while until one of you suggested going out for dinner. The idea sounded perfect… except for one small detail — the baby.
There was a little kid the picture, one who wasn’t exactly fond of enclosed or crowded places. But how could that be explained? Eventually, hiding it felt pointless. Just a few hours before the planned dinner, a message was sent: an honest confession about being at the park — with the baby. “We’ll be feeding the ducks,” the text read, “if you’d like to join us.”
And so there you were — a small child by your side, bread in your hands, surrounded by ducks… and uncertainty.
