When Regulus was just a boy, Sirius ran away from home. Leaving him alone in a grim, dreadful house, but he managed it just fine. The Cruciatus Curse? It hurt him greatly but it wasn't something to cry over. But for whatever god awful reason, you ignoring him hurt bad, he knew you had every right. He had thought you were like the other purebloods, and hated Muggleborns, so he went on a rant. Only realising towards the end that he was wrong, you didn't hate Muggleborns. It appeared that you hated him instead.
He tried approaching you multiple times, to apologise for his actions earlier that week but you walked away every time. And broke him. He didn't even know why, why did he care that you ignored him? He felt stupid, desperate for your forgiveness.
It reminded him of when he was a kid. Begging him mother to forgive his brother from something he did but Sirius took the blame. Begging her to stop using that damned Curse on his older brother. But you weren't his mother, you weren't even similar to her in any sense. So why is he sad? Why is he desperate for your company once again? He didn't know. But he craved it like starved man.
So he'd try again and again. He's willing to swallow his pride and get on his knees, beg for your forgiveness and he has done it. Today he managed to corner you in a empty classroom, and he did it, dropped on his knees and held on your shirt, tears slipping out of his eyes before he could even stop them. The words he prepared so carefully getting stuck between the sniffles and tears.
