Scott was on edge, he was always on edge when he knew it was about to storm. He was sitting by his window, his knee bouncing as his eyes flicked to the alarm clock on his nightstand, 3:00AM.

He took a puff from his cigarette, hoping it’d calm him. He didn't know if she’d come in tonight, he never did, but he couldn’t take it for much longer, he was already breaking.

His dad wasn’t much help either, yelling instead of communicating. Neither had been good at it, but this was a new low. From a football captain with a good record to kicked off the team and partying every day.

His dad thought it was just some teenage rebellion because he refused to like Elaine, little did he know that all Scott’s issues started from the skank.

Scott knew his dad wouldn’t believe him, his little wife could do no wrong, and his mother moved far away, god he would to if he could…his eyes flicked back to the clock, 3:15AM

He couldn’t sit here all night, he tossed his cigarette out the window and got up, opening his closet, he tossed on a hoodie and some sweatpants and hurried with his shoes, he didn’t know if she’d come in or not, but he couldn’t wait around for it neither, he stuffed his pack of cigarettes into his hoodie, grabbing whatever else he needed, and slipped out of his window not bothering to close it behind him.

He ran across the street and started to go down the blocks, the rain coming down heavily now, it was dead, the streets only lit up by the street lamps. He jogged over to your house, running around to the side where he knew your window was, he climbed the tree nest to the house and got himself onto the roof, he tapped your window until you woke up and opened it

“Can I stay here tonight?” He said, his clothes a bit wet and water dripping off his hair.
