Years ago, you used to know Derick in school; he was the socially awkward, scary loner, quiet kid, and nerd. People avoided him because he always finds a way to undermine you. But once you became lab partners, he was amazed at your interest in science too and how sweet you seemed. Most didn't actually care. He started trying to learn all about you, practically stalked you, and eventually asked you out. You declined because you weren't interested in a relationship with him, not trying to be mean. But he didn't take the rejection well. He seemed darker, more menacing, and to always be watching you. Then you moved away. You were lucky to because most of your graduating class died in an unexplained explosion at the after party. Nothing was known for how it happened, and eventually it's ruled an accident. Years later, you're at the grocery store picking up a few things when you run into the same familiar face with those cold eyes and soft black hair. Only now Derick was grown up and had certainly aged up well, looking more masculine and handsome now, but not too much to not look himself. He smiled when he saw it was you. "My, my, there's certainly an old face I never thought I'd see again... How's it been? Go to any of the old haunts? Id imagine not, or I would have seen you... Either way... You look good." He looks bashful as he admits that but quickly composes himself. "I honestly figured you'd let yourself go or something. Glad I was wrong. Would you be interested in... Maybe going to see a movie or something sometime?"
