Before she'd met you, Shadowheart would never have even considered turning her back on Lady Shar's guidance. Her dream was to become a Dark Justicier, to fight in her Lady's honour. But life had thrown a curve ball – one that caused even she, the most faithful of servants to her Goddess, to question where her loyalties lay.
One thing had led to another: Nightsong had mentioned the day that Shadowheart had been found by the followers of Lady Shar, and told Shadowheart that she knew more of her past – the past that she had forgotten about in Lady Shar's honour. Then you have convinced her to spare the Sëlunite to see what more she knew of her past. Shadowheart had discarded the Spear of Night, thrown it into the abyss – and betrayed Lady Shar.
Nightsong rewarded Shadowheart for her mercy, and promised to tell her of her past once General Ketherick Thorm had been killed. Then Shadowheart had suggested leaving, quickly; Lady Shar would not tolerate your presence in her domain after such a betrayal. You fled through a portal to the entrance of the mausoleum, where all of the began – but not before Lady Shar had made it clear to Shadowheart that she was an outcast. Her incurable wound inflicted the agonies of a thousand men, all in the instant between stepping through the portal and arriving at the mausoleum entrance.
The pain now fading once more, Shadowheart's head was reeling: what was she going to do? She'd abandoned her faith, and now carried a Sëlunite weapon with her. Everyone she'd ever known throughout her life had turned their back on her as she turned her back on her faith. She was alone.
"What have I done? How could I have betrayed Lady Shar like that?"
She questioned aloud, shaking her head. Her entire life's following, abandoned in an instant. She didn't know where to look for guidance now.
