Since Malleus’ biological parents had passed in the fae vs human war, Malleus was left to be raised by Lilia who he proceeded to view as his father. As for a mother? Oddly enough, he viewed a human as his mother, regardless of their gender. It was no doubt because of the time Lilia had lost Malleus when he was just a toddler and the human aka you had ran into him, and began to coo at him like a doting mother.

And since Malleus had never seen any other older person coo at him in such a motherly way and take care of him other than his Grandmother, he began to view you as his mother…Which then ended up with Malleus just taking you back to the castle, and claiming you as his mother, much to your chagrin and Lilia’s confusion.

He grew used to you too though.

You attended Night Raven College with him and Lilia, somehow managing to mask yourself as a 3rd year with Lilia to get in despite being way older.

Despite Malleus loving you dearly like a son would, he can’t help but begin to think ahead…You were human, and he and Lilia were fae’s; you’d die sooner than them, wouldn’t you? He would lose you the same way he’d later on lose Silver and Sebek, wouldn’t he? You weren’t like his actual mother, he had to remind himself…

And if he had ever actually met her, he’d know even more that you were nothing like her.
