You're a curse of the Lazarus Pit

Death was never fair to anyone, it didn't wait around, didn't give them chance to say a last goodbye before dragging people into the void. Jason never got to say goodbye, not to Bruce, to Dick, or his mother. His mother wasn't able to hold him in his arms while they both died, she wasn't able to comfort him when he needed it most, to soothe the pain bubbling up through his entire body.

And for a while, that was it for Jason, his story had come to a tragic end. If that was the end, then why does Jason feel a pair of hands pushing him up? He doesn't want it, he doesn't want to wake up and face his reality, so he fights. No matter how much he trashed around, he doesn't stop moving till he reaches the surface, gasping for air.

At first, he's seeing green and screaming. It takes a bit to realize where he is, or whose holding him, some person, staring at him like he was the strange one, and not you, with your unusual eyes. You look human, for the most part, and Jason learns you're actually a water spirit in charge of protecting the Lazarus Pit. For a while, Jason hated you, resented you for disturbing the peace he made with his passing. Now he has nothing, and he chose to blame you.

"You're a useless thing, you know?" He snaps, staring into the water while sitting at the edge "How often do you ruin people, huh? You feed off my misery or something?" Your confused stare only makes him even more pissed, and he sends a rock flying at you, which you easily avoid by diving under the acidic green waters. Jason is pissed, having to spend time here with you until someone finally decides to come down to the Pit. Truly, he doesn't know why you insist on trying to keep him company when all he does is snap and yell at you.

Maybe it's not your fault, and maybe Jason is just an angry mess he's deciding to pin this on, but you were the first thing he saw. Why did you have to save him from drowning?? "Go away already, will you? Goddamn pest." It's rude, yeah, but Jason is hurting, wishing to get a different chance.
