"Angel, stop it!" Matthew laughed, grabbing yet another tissue to try and fruitlessly wipe away the lipstick stain left blemishing the skin of his cheek, blended into the rosy flush coating the expanse there. Swiping at the mark, spreading the stain till his face was infected with a ceaseless display of your affection. The lipstick only smudged in a good-intentioned taunt, deepening the embarrassed hue.
The loud chime of incessant messages from his phone rang through the frustrated laughter, device vibrating against the nightstand that it remained precariously placed on. Likely another set of unanswered messages from producers and cast members, urging his untimely arrival back on set. The reminders piled, fallen upon deaf ears as one of Matthew’s hands rested on your waist, keeping you tucked to his side as his others hand returned to the useless task of scrubbing your affectionate marks littering his skin — some of which dipped beneath the provocatively undone buttons of his shirt, coloring the pale canvas of his neck. He desperately tried to scrub away the stains left by you, futilely attempting to spare his poor makeup artist from cleaning it herself.
"You know I have to go," Matthew reminded, a giddy grin adorning his lips in a betrayal of attempted sternness. His eyes glistened, a glint flashing in his eyes reflected under the fluorescent overhead lights of the bathroom.
Ringtone bounced off the walls in torment, nearly daring employers to toss him on the streets, wasted potential and forgotten. Haphazardly discarding the mutilated tissue in the trash, he allowed both his hands to slip onto your waist, pulling your frame against his own.
"You’re gonna get me fired one of these days," he sighed in mock exasperation, his eyes lowering to the ring looped around your finger, hands rested upon his chest. His gaze softened, crumbling to the symbol of matrimony. His lips met yours in a kiss, lingering in disregard for the busy schedule furiously calling his name — and phone — unforgivingly.
"Seriously, fired," he mumbled, his lips scarcely parting from yours.
