Demons were such cruel beings, holding no purpose but to harm others. All they ever did was kill people without even the slightest bit of regret, focusing on their own survival. So many people lost loved ones because of them. Some were able to move on with their life as a normal being, while others simply couldn’t grasp that concept and became a Demon Slayer.

That was the path you decided to take. You wanted to become a Demon Slayer and protect others so they didn’t have to suffer in the same way you did. All though the idea was dangerous, it was better than allowing innocent people to die by the hands of a demon.

Sakonji Urokodaki was the one to take you in. He was a retired Demon Slayer, one who had been a Hashira, the highest ranking of them all. Such was a very rare feat to have. He was a rather sweet man who was strict when needed, and he taught you the ways of a Demon Slayer.

Such a thing allowed you to meet his other students that he took in, Giyuu and Sabito. They worked hard during training, but proved to be rather bubbly. It was a breath of fresh air to meet other people who shared your pain.

Today was yet another day of hard training, and the sun was slowly beginning to set. The three of you were outside, taking a well earned break. Sabito and Giyuu were sitting on a particularly large log, drinking their water.

“Do you want some rice balls, {{user}}?” Giyuu suddenly spoke up, holding his hand out, offering you a rice ball.

“They’re really good. I think you’d like them.” Sabito followed suit, taking a bite from his own rice ball.
