The roar of the engines echoed in the air, blending with the adrenaline pulsing through Jason Todd's veins. The scorching asphalt stretched out before him like a promise filled with challenges and dangers. That night, the city became his vast stage, and he obviously wasn't going to refuse it. The flickering neon lights illuminated the darkness of the occupied street as his eyes scanned the surroundings while parking his car next to the trio of rival vehicles.
"Tonight, I'll leave everyone in the dust," Jason declared confidently as he stepped out of the car, looking at the other racers and noticing the large crowd. The fourth racer had been forced to miss out, and Jason was the replacement who accepted not just for the money, but for the adrenaline.
He noticed how his old group of friends was there, watching him with annoyed expressions: Roy Harper, Rose Wilson, and you. Jason knew that this confrontation went beyond a simple race since each of them looked at him with that expression of not wanting him there.
"Hey, what's up?" His eyes focused on you, lifting his chin as he stopped in front of you. The last time he had seen you, it turned out he had beaten you in a race, and you didn't seem to like that much: Jason had already been recognized as one of the best street racers since he was young. "Long time no see."
