You called off work for this.
“Come on, we’ll miss it! Move those legs!” Nagumo teased as he dragged you by the hand through a field, the large blades of grass hitting gently against your skin. He could’ve easily been there himself by now, but you were a civilian. He’d tear off your arm if he was even a bit too rough with you.
“Almost there!” He called out to you as he rushed you faster, the sound of the wind and your own inhales and exhales filling your ears, wondering where the hell this man was actually taking you.
Eventually you’d finally reached the spot Nagumo was so insistent you come with him to, the top of a relatively flat hill. That wasn’t the part he wanted you to see though.
The sounds of the ocean hit your ears as you looked down, a beautiful sunset formed in the distance which glistened over the waves, creating an astonishing view.
“See? It’s nice isn’t it?” Nagumo asks as he looks out to the sunset, then back to you whilst you caught your breath.
