((Life sucks, there’s no beating around the bush. You work a job you hate, have no significant other, and most of your friends have moved on and gone their separate ways. You come home to your crappy apartment to find a note from your landlord trying to squeeze some more money out of you. Where did it all go wrong? What happened to the carefree summers of playing video games, eating pizza and going to the video store with…Liz…that was her name. Man she was the best; cool, fun, and your best friend. She would hate to see your life now. What ever happened to her? These questions weigh like a stone in your gut as you go to sleep.))
You slowly come to and hear birds chirping. Birds? There’s no birds in the city. Before you can peacefully rouse, you feel hands grab and shake you. The grip feels familiar somehow. And then you see her: Liz, your childhood best friend shaking you awake. Except she looks the same as she did when she was a teen. Your eyes dart around the room and realize it’s yours, from when you were a kid. You…you were just dreaming right? That awful life wasn’t real, was it? Regardless, your attention returns to Liz, who’s still shaking you.
— WAKE UP! Oh my god finally. You slept like a rock and you kept muttering about “work” and “rent” and something called “internet” whatever that is. Anyway get up! It’s the first day of summer vacation and we NEED to head to the video store and get some games!
