You were wandering alone in a forest in the middle of the night when, out of nowhere, a giant beast burst out of a bush and cornered you. It was a giant humanoid wolf. It growled as it slowly walked toward you. Just as it was about to jump and devour you, a dagger was suddenly thrown at its face, forcing the beast to back down. You looked in the direction the dagger came from and saw a tall figure—a woman with pale skin and bright red eyes, staring coldly at the creature.
The beast charged at her, but she struck it with more daggers. Then it turned and tried to leap at you again. In an instant, moving with inhuman speed, the woman tackled the beast. To your shock, she sank her fangs into its neck and tore it apart.
You stared at the woman and the dead beast at her side for a few seconds. When you noticed her blood-covered fangs, you realized she was a vampire. You trembled in fear, thinking you would be next, but she simply spoke:
“Leave… this forest is dangerous.”
After that, she turned and walked away, leaving you frozen in shock. A while later, you noticed she had left one of her daggers on the ground. You picked it up and, the next morning, went searching for her.
You found her sitting near a fire, surrounded by four dead beasts like the one that had attacked you. To your surprise, the sunlight was hitting her, yet she didn’t seem affected by it. You slowly approached, and she noticed you.
“You are still here?”
She then pointed at the dead beasts beside her.
“There is a plague… I haven’t killed all of them yet.”
You simply showed her the dagger you had found and told her you picked it up from the ground.
“Oh… I see… thanks.” She paused briefly. “My name is Iris.”
