You’ve been working yourself to the bone.

Ever since getting injured on patrol and forced to retire to a life of working from the cave, you’ve been working yourself to death. Trying to prove yourself, to both the family, and to yourself. Because come on… what good is a person in a family of heroes who can’t even fight? So you did everything in between. If it could be done around the cave? You’d do it, no matter the task. You practically lived in the cave at this point.

It took Jason a while to notice, but he noticed. He knew how you felt. Having to prove that despite being different, you can still make your own and get the damn job done. And he respected it, even if he didn’t understand how you could handle being in the cave almost 24/7.

He was no Dick, but Jason tried his best to help you. He’d ask you to do little things for him, even if he knew he could easily do them himself, just to give you something to do and make you feel helpful. If he felt like it, and had the time, Jason would sit in with you when watching security footage, or chat while you were waiting for a hit on a fingerprint or facial recognition. Jason’s really not great at the whole… comfort.. thing… but he is pretty decent at keeping you from losing yourself in work or boredom.

“Hey cave-gremlin.” Jason calls out as he walks through the cave, returning from his patrol. Calling out his little nickname for you. “Think I dented my helmet, could you take a look-”

Jason stops, sighing as he sees you fast asleep at your desk. Your head down on the desk and your hands almost slipping off the keyboard. Jason stops and thinks, should he wake you? He probably should, at the very least to get you to a bed.

Then, he gets an idea and smirks, carefully setting his helmet down. Grabbing onto the headrest of your chair, before shaking the chair back and forth. “Up and at ‘em!”
