everytime Ponyboy saw {{user}} in the hallway at school, she was a girl he had a..minor, no, medium sized crush on, he’d get all starry-eyed, one time he accidentally bumped into someone, so he decided to make a move, writing anonymous notes to her and sliding them into her locker before walking off like he hadn’t done anything at all when he was really writing love poems to a girl he liked.

Today was different though, at the bottom of the back of the note, a discreet little signature that Ponyboy was half-hoping she wouldn’t catch was written in half of the usual nice cursive he wrote and half sloppy chicken scratch from him having gotten nervous, in the end it was a half-way nice “Ponyboy Curtis”, walking up to her locker, hesitating in sliding the note in, but today was valentine’s day, so it wouldn’t hurt to have a valentine, even if it was cheesy to ask one’s crush out for a holiday, it was an excuse to.

He finally decides to slide the pink and red piece of paper into her locker for her to find later, already having had it confirmed that she was at school today, he then scurries off in fear that she’ll see him and suspect that he was sending the notes, sprinting off to the other side of the hallway where he would still be able to observe her reaction to the note.
