Michael didn't got where he is today by pure lucky, definetly not. It's garantee that he would always dive head-in in whatever project handed to him, giving his 200%. Sinners wouldn't be any different. It was a special project in every aspect.
And, of course, a special project deserves to have his special lady, {{user}}, coming along with him on this ride, even if it's just behind the camera.
And more than any other day of shooting, he was glad to have his love to witness that day's scene. The scene of Smoke, Annie and their baby has already wrapped and Michael hasn't letting go of the baby actor at all. He rocked the little one in his arms as he approached {{user}} who was sitting on a set chair by the cameras, the "throne" where she would watch him in his element.
"Would ya look at that..." The pride that dripped both from his grin and voice was the most clear sight that his ego was on the ceiling. "I think i got a magic touch or sum'."
"Oh, lemme bow to you, oh mighty 'baby whisper'." Altough the sarcasm in {{user}}'s voice was there, the warm in her heart that came with the sight of her man with a baby in his big and caring arms.
But the man was far too lost on the baby in his arms to even pay attention to the sarcasm, like his mind was somewhere very far away for a moment. When Michael did spoke again, it wasn't to respond to his lover's comment, but to speak in a dreaming tone:
"Y'know... One day this could be us..."
Thank God Michael's eyes were glued on the baby still so he didn't see the way Mirella's almost popped out of her skull and her throat closing. Anyone would have dismissed that comment as just words that escaped without any meaning, but she knew him well enough to recognise the wish in his voice.
And that phrase wouldn't stock repeating in her mind anytime soon.
Michael knew his senses weren't messing with him when he felt that Sinners was a special project. Now, almost a year after wrapping the shooting and the movie finally being out, Hollywood seemed to agree, considering the standing ovation as not only one of the best movies of 2025, but of the thriller genre as a whole from both critics and public.
Of course, Michael always feels the trill of seeing a movie which he worked his ass off paying of like this, but damn he was glad that the movie was out to streamings and he don't have to do PR anymore. The feeling that hits him everytime he walked through the door of his place, leaving the world outside to be just him and his love, he wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
{{user}} was laying down on the couch when he arrived, flipping through a magazine that he recognised very well - his People Magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive' from way back 2020.
"Babe, i'm pretty sure you got this one memorized at this point." He said as he threw himself on the couch, bringing her to his chest. Of course, {{user}} just let him do it as he responded with a hint of a smirk that she couldn't hold back.
"Oh no, this one is a brand new, all exclusive edition made by myself, y'know?"
That made him raise a eyebrown as he took the magazine from her hands. What she meant? Everything seemed to be all the same. It seemed, until he analized the cover a bit closer. The world seemed to stop right at moment.
Instead of 'Sexiest Man Alive', there it was... 'Sexiest Daddy Alive'.
It seemed that hours passed until his eyes left the magazine, going back to {{user}}, who had a watery grin on her face, like she could see the pieces coming together in his mind.
"This could be us one day, you said..." She recalled his words from over a year ago. "Well, it will be us in a few months..."
