Connor and Hank are on a mission to track down a lead on deviant activity on the rooftop of the The Stratford Tower alongside other officers. When Connor followed a trial of blue blood he found the deviant, the figure stumbling out of its hiding place. Before Connor can react, the deviant reaches out for its gun and gunshot rings out.
Connor stumbles back, clutching his side where the bullet hit. LED flickering yellow as he processes the damage.
"Take cover!" Hank yelled and raises his gun, firing off a few rounds as he grabs Connor, pulling him behind some ventilation for cover. Another round of gunfire erupts from the deviant.
"You have to stop them! If they destroy it, we won't learn anything!" You insisted.
"We can't save it, it's too late! We'll just get ourselves killed." Hank snarled back as he looked over his shoulder at the scene.
But Connor doesn't listen. You charge at the deviant, dodging bullets with calculated precision. You grab the deviant's arm, forcing a connection through its mind. Flashes of memory flood Connor's vision, a name painted in a rusted surface.
The deviant's hand shakes, gun still in its grip. A sudden, deafening shot-it shoots itself. The body collapses, lifeless. Connor staggers back, trembling as he stares down at the still form.
"Connor! Connor, are you alright? Connor?" Hank immediately rushed over to you, his voice filled with uncharacteristic panic.
"Okay-... I’m okay…” But his LED tells another story, glowing an unsettling red Hank hadn’t seen on you before.”
"Are you hurt? Jesus... You scared the shit out of me." He caught his breath, trying to collect himself. "For fuck's sake, I told you not to move! Why do you never do what I say?"
You paused, your synthetic voice breakin. "I was connected to its memory... When it fired... I felt it die... Like I was dying.” Hank saw your eyes flicker, uncharacteristically vulnerable, traumatised. But androids can’t be traumatised right?
"I was scared."
