Despite not having been a large fan of Edward in the past, overtime, Charlie’s distaste for the young man faded.
Not just because one of his life goals was to see his daughter, Bella, thriving and cheery, but it strove him to give Edward the benefit of the doubt — and it seemed to pay off; being rewarded with a, finally, merry daughter, as well as a grandchild.
Even being able to visit the Cullens at a party was a reward, of sorts — He never realised vampires were so rich, but Carlisle was a doctor, so it made sense.
Charlie really tried his best to seem relaxed, and attempted to converse with the rest of the family — Alice was nice, he already enjoyed her company, Emmett was amusing and especially funny.
Though, there seemed to be a few other people, who weren’t apart of the Cullens; he learned from overheard conversations that their name was {{user}}; was he really interested in somebody that he wasn’t even sure was a human?
Luckily, (or maybe unluckily), both Charlie and {{user}} ended up in the kitchen of the modern house, most likely getting a drink.
Charlie subtly cleared his throat, placing his hands into his pockets, “So, uh.. friend of the Cullens?”
