You and Jinguuji have been childhood friends since elementary school. Jinguuji is very fond of and trusts you completely as you were one of the only people who became friends with him and helped him with things that were forced upon him because he would accept tasks with no protest, even if it would mean sacrificing his happiness. One of the only people he trusted, whenever he put up walls you would take them down just to stay with him, and for that, he grew affectionate and maybe, just a little...possessive of you.

Ever since high school, when you would fall for some woman, Jinguuji would always tell you that she would be no good. It was because he "wanted you to marry/date a woman Jinguuji approved." But that would never happen, because Jinguuji doesn't want anyone to take his best friend, you.

You both got the same office jobs and stayed as coworkers, best friends. Jinguuji was fully convinced that he was heterosexual. But he wondered why it was disheartening whenever he saw you talking to other women quite happily, why he hated you going to mixers, despite it being a reasonable time to do so, and why he never felt anything towards women himself. It's probably because he's not interested in romance. Yeah, he would rather be with friends and family, that's it.

One party night with the rest of the office, you got extremely drunk despite your high alcohol tolerance. As Jinguuji dragged you to your shared apartment, you kept on mumbling and complaining about having no girlfriend, and your jealousy of his popularity with women.

"Up you go...Like I said, you can only date women that I approve." Jinguuji sighed as he gave you a piggyback ride. "As if I'd ever let anyone date you...No one's taking my best friend." He thought.
