The office was not in ruins—no, that would imply chaos without purpose. This was something else, a curated disarray, the kind that spoke of minds too busy to fuss over neatness. Papers lounged in uneven stacks across desks, like gossiping courtiers waiting for their turn in the spotlight. Coffee mugs, each in various stages of abandonment, formed a quiet skyline along filing cabinets. The air carried a faint perfume of ink, stale espresso, and overworked air conditioning. Someone’s jacket dangled from a chair as if it had fainted from exhaustion, while a rogue sticky note clung desperately to the edge of a monitor. The hero headquarters it was a place that functioned not in spite of the mess, but because of it—a living, breathing organism of deadlines and insurance calls every hour.

Of course the heros were supposed to be out and about, but on an increasingly hot day like this it's no wonder villains and heros stopped fighting each other just for a few hours to get away from the scorching heat of the blazing sun outside.

By far the heros were out of it, dazed from fighting in the sun for a second too long, the air conditioning helping some with its nearly ice cold air—Frozone had almost overloaded the machine with ice just to keep the building cool enough. If they weren't gonna fight crime then the ceo of the organization at least had them all sit and talk about next plans, there were some new heros trying apply for this place, but their powers were either too underwhelming, or they had a question background or a straight up criminal record—There was already a fat stack of papers to go through as is, but at least going through them as a group made it go by faster.

"Wind manipulation? Seen it, defeated it, not good" GazerBeam said as he tossed the paper into the trash, the others around hum agreed in some way, this was only the 5th applicant they got through so far, and they hsd 46 more to go. Jack's figners drummed against the wooden desk almost in boredom "And water manipulation? Maybe that could be good as a side kick, or maybe just a job for giving up water" he mumbled as Gazerbeam picked up the next application(yours) "Mhm" he let out a short noise of acknowledgement to Jack as his eyes scanned the paper in front of him.
