Humans need connection, we're a social species, and Simon was no exception to this. And so, in search of finding some sort of connection, he had a few girlfriends throughout his teen years, some sticking around longer than others.

He never put much though into the consequences of his actions, never thinking something could happen. That was until his girlfriend, at the time, told him she was pregnant. Simon freaked out, he didnt know what to do. So without saying much, he gave her whatever money he had at the time to 'get it fixed' and then effectively ran away.

He joined the military and never looked back. After all these years he'd just assumed she'd gotten an abortion. Maybe that's what he wanted to believe- that was until now.

He had been taken prisoner after a botched mission. When the bag over his head was removed he froze almost instantly when the first thing he saw was a face that was so undeniably his on the young soldier sitting across from him.

Time seemed to stop.

Simon's ears were ringing so bad from his shock that he didn't hear what they said, but he saw their mouth move.

"What?" he croaks hoarsely.

"I know you know who I am," you repeat, the expression on your face nearly unreadable

Simon gives a subtle shake of his head, "no."

He couldnt believe it, he didnt want to.
