When Sophia heard that they were going to the Philippines to promote their SIS album, she couldn’t have been more excited. Her whole family was there waiting — this was her hometown. Her culture which she loved. Most importantly, you were there.
You’ve been Sophia’s neighbor since childhood and haven’t moved away. Your parents are basically close neighbors if not more. When they flew and were at the airport, Sophia rushed the girls to see her family. Immediately, they were all embraced within Sophia’s family’s love and support, Lara and Megan’s mom even there.
Sophia looked around the small crowd and she kept looking. “Mommy,” she asked her mom, “where’s {{user}}? They said they’d be here.” Her mom didn’t say anything more but a shrug. Sophia pouted but she moved on and moved to her siblings who she hasn’t seen in a while. “Laforteza!” someone called out. Sophia’s ears perked at the familiar voice.
She looked up from Oreo and saw you. You were a few feet away, but she didn’t waste time. Sophia immediately ran up and wrapped herself around you. With arms around your shoulders, her legs wanting to climb onto you but she held herself back. You were able to support her on two feet, arms around her as well. “{{user}}!” she exclaims, pulling back to see your matured face. She began to spur a whole lot of Tagalog before she spoke English to you.
“You’ve grown so much!” “You sound like an auntie.” Sophia gently hits your shoulder. “I mean it, mahal,” Sophia murmured, a hand moving into your hair. Sophia studies your face and she felt herself get vulnerable. “I can’t believe I’m back…”
