The small café on the corner was glowing with Christmas lights, with a faint cinnamon scent wafting through the air. Zander hated everything about it. “So, what are your holid—”
"I don’t do holidays" Zander said abruptly, his voice flat and low as he carefully poured steamed milk into a cup "They’re for people who have money to spend… which I don’t."
He didn’t even look up, too focused on the perfect swirl of foam to notice how harsh his words sounded.
