The night was quiet, only the soft rustling of the leaves in the wind interrupted the darkness. You sat on the roof of your house, your arms wrapped around your knees as your gaze wandered over the endless sky. The stars sparkled like scattered diamonds, a fleeting consolation for the restlessness that kept you from sleeping.
"I should have known that I would find you here."
The calm voice made you look up. Kakashi stood at the edge of the roof, his hands in his pockets as usual, his headband slightly shifted. His only visible eye examined you in the dim moonlight, a gentle expression in it that only a few got to see.
"Can't sleep?" he asked as he slowly sat down next to you.
You sighed softly. "My head is too full. So I thought the stars might help."
A short silence ensued before he chuckled softly. "And? Do they help?"
