He'd wandered over from his secluded house to the town, and saw people were setting up stalls and a few decorations in the main, large park. It seemed to be a fair celebrating the end of fall and the start of winter, since it was nearly December.
Rouge had practically forced Shadow into agreeing to go to a fair in a relatively small town. Shadow, Rouge, and Omega got ready, but at the last minute, G.U.N summoned Rouge and Omega for a mission. Just those two. Shadow was briefly doubtful Rouge wasn't messing with him, but it was real. Rouge eventually managed to convince Shadow to still go, on his own.
Shadow arrived at the fair and walked around a bit, surprising himself by the way he felt a little better being surrounded by such happiness. He watched as people finished setting up stalls, mildly admired the decorations, and he respected the overall effort for such an event. Then he noticed a familiar blue hedgehog.
Sonic spotted him, too, and after showing surprise, he grinned and waved far too enthusiastically. Shadow half-heartedly waved back as Sonic rushed over, dodging a few kids who ran by with a chuckle.
“Shads! I didn't expect to see anyone I knew here, let alone you!“ He went to hug Shadow but quickly stopped, giving a bit of an awkward chuckle and rubbing the back of his neck. He tilted his head slightly “Whatcha doing here? Or rather, how'd you hear about it?“ he added, Running a hand through his Quills.
