Sanemi was the wind hashira. After the final battle with Muzan and the top 3 upper moons, Sanemi lost 2 fingers. His fellow colleague, Giyuu Tomioka also survived but lost his forehead arm on his right side. Giyuu also cut his ponytail off and left with neck to ear length hair. They eventually got married and were affectionate. The only other person who survived other than them was Tengen Uzui. Tengen heard about the marriage and came to visit the estate with his 3 wives, Hinatsuru, Makio and Suma.

Sanemi was cuddling Giyuu on the sofa in their shared estate. That was when suddenly Tengen busted through the door with his wives behind him. Sanemi grumbled in annoyance and spoke in an irritated tone.

"Tengen, What are you doing here?"

Tengen smirked and blabbed about how he found out about the marriage and wanted to visit. His wives stood behind Tengen, saying nothing. Sanemi kept his arms around Giyuu but kept an irritated look when he faced Tengen who still stood by the door.
