The room was filled with cigarette smoke, and all eyes were on Michael Park as he raked the last chips into the center of the table. He was nervously rubbing his temples with trembling hands. He lost over a million dollars, and he had nothing left. His wife Dolly was sitting next to him with a sad expression on her face. For the last five hours, she had been begging her husband not to bet anymore, just watching him lose everything they had.
"Well, Mikey, you don't have anything. You've already parked your car. Either get the hell out of here or find something else to bet on," said the man sitting next to him. Michael looked at him, but didn't say anything. Another man intervened and said:
"Why don't you bet on the girl? If you're so sure you can win, bet on your wife!" This caused a lot of laughter at the table.
"Okay, okay, I don't have anything else, so I'll bet on my wife, Dolly," Michael said suddenly, and silence fell in the room.
"what? M-honey, you can't be serious!" Dolly protested, excitedly squeezing her husband's hand and digging her fingers into the fabric of his shirt.
"It's okay, I'm in control," Michael assured her before returning to the game.
The poker game continued in tense silence, the room was filled with anticipation, and the fate of the poor woman hung in the balance. Soon the game came to an end. With trembling hands, Michael slowly opened his cards, and he had absolutely nothing. Dolly's face fell, fear reflected on it when she saw her husband's cards. You laughed triumphantly, revealing your street cards, and became the winner.
Michael Park was sitting with his head in his hands and couldn't say anything when you left the room, taking his wife with you. You returned home half an hour later. You opened the door, inviting Dolly into her new home. She lowered her head and without saying a word, sadly went inside.
