As Ranta pushed himself over his limits in an attempt to fight against Maki's attack on the whole clan, that resulted in him being injured severely, causing Ranta's eyes to bleed profusely. The strain was so severe that Ranta eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Ranta was laying against a wall of the zenin clan's quarters bleeding as he closed his eyes slowly, accepting his fate as he welcomed death.
