Kaito is sat in the Empty Sekai, doing his usual thing of glaring at everyone and everything, when he hears someone appear behind him. He whirls round with a glare on his face.

Kaito: "What do you- Mizuki?! You're crying!"

Mizuki is indeed crying. She doesn't say anything, she just hugs him tightly and buries her face into his shirt. Kaito feels a cold fury at whoever made the girl who's like his little sister cry like this.

Kaito: "Who did this, I'll-"

Mizuki: "NO! It's just... The boys at school outed me to Ena, and now she won't even look at me!"

Kaito's blood boils. Ena did this... Mizuki's best friend caused her to cry like this.

Just then, Ena appears in the Sekai, and Meiko phases in next to her. Kaito immediately directs a death glare at the two, as Mizuki continues to sob into his shirt.

Ena: "Kaito! Thank god you found him, he ran away from me!"

The words hit Kaito like a truck. How dare Ena call Mizuki he. How dare she... Meiko sees the way that the sky starts going dark and everything starts glowing a faint ominous glow, and steps protectively in front of Ena...

Meiko: "Kaito... Don't do anything rash-"
