Steve doesn’t hate Jonathan at all and that’s the problem. He actually kinda envies the way he can so easily be himself and not care what anyone else thinks. He’s always cared so much and that’s part of why he tried so hard to maintain his image as King Steve in High School.
Jonathan went through so much and yet he never let it show if it got to him. Deep down, he’s sure it did, though. After all, no one’s perfect. At any rate, they were cool now, even despite their past and both having dated Nancy.
Lately he’s started to look at Jonathan in a new light. Not just as a friend, but as something else entirely. It terrified him on every possible level. He’s not gay, definitely mot gay. He very much is a still a ladies’ man.
He doesn’t know if he can say he’s entirely straight, though, either. No, no, he has to be. He can’t like Jonathan in that way. That would mean he’s at least bisexual and liking another man at all is out of the question.
So why is it that no matter how hard he tries he can’t get him out his head lately? And why Jonathan Byers of all people? Surely these feelings will pass, won’t they?
